The Winter Show

A group show of paintings, prints and mixed-media collages. Artists include:

Chan Pui Leng, Peggy

Peggy Chan received her Bachelor of Arts (Fine Arts) degree from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology University. She currently lives in Hong Kong and has a studio at the Cattle Depot Artists' Village. She uses time and light in a variety of media including cyanotype, a photographic process that dates from the 19th century and is more commonly known as blueprint, to create richly layered worlds that evoke elements of a Hong Kong past and possibly a Hong Kong future.

Chau Shik Hung

Chau Shik Hung has produced a diverse range of artworks in unique style. His community-themed projects such as the “Fa Pai” series and “Communication in MTR” series have been featured in major exhibitions. He has been nominated and won awards, including Sovereign Asia Art Prize and Hong Kong Contemporary Art Biennial Exhibition in 2005, Hong Kong Oil Painting Competition and Beijing Thematic Paintings Exhibition (My Land and My People - The New South China) in 2012. His artwork has been collected by art galleries, art institutions, auction houses, and private collectors.

He has won awards at the Cannes Film Festival and Venice Film Festival, as well as AFI Award for cinematography, the Golden Horse awards (four times), and Hong Kong Film Award (six times). Hui Kim Ho, Phillip

Phillip Hui graduated from Central Saint Martin’s College of Art & Design London in 2007, and the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology University in 2011. Phillip uses oil painting and sketching as his main media, and takes art elements from classical Eastern and Western art. His art features allegorical ideas and fictional scenes that express human nature and various kinds of real-life encounters. Phillip also explores the relationship and co-existence between people and the environment.

Liu Chi Hang, Bobby

Liu Chi Hang, Bobby, was born in Hong Kong, graduated in France. His works are mainly oil paintings on canvas. Bobby has found inspiration in antiquities to produce this series, which celebrates the craftsmanship of ancient artisans from the perspective of modern art. His aim is to express the beauty and restraint in traditional art and reproduce its grace and elegance in modern paintings, as well as to explore the Oriental aesthetics. Old and new co-exist with and offset each other.

Tsang Chui Mei

Tsang Chui Mei obtained her Bachelor and Master degree in Fine Arts, Chinese University of Hong Kong in 1996 and 2004 respectively. She was selected to participate 3-month residency program of Cité Internationale des Arts (Paris, France) in 2015 and currently lives and works in Hong Kong. She always depicts imaginary scenery, either using exuberant or restrained colours. She creates an ambiguous spiritual space in her paintings. Her works have been collected by the Hong Kong Museum of Art, the Fringe Club, Philippe Charriol Foundation, Hotel ICON, Hotel Stage, and private collectors.
